Homepage blog section

On the homepage I have a blog section. Each post has a featured image. It would be really good if that image could be displayed with the text of the post. It would also be nice to have some other display options - for example being able to display 2 or 3 posts per row - like the "Recent blog posts" section of https://www.network-midlands.co.uk/
